For the past one month, social media has been boiling with a lot of intense accusation to Kampala City Council Authority for hiring Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz as the main act on the 6th edition of City Carnival.

It’s alleged that the Hallelujah hitmaker pocketed a whopping 40K USD approximately 150M UGX for a 2-hour performance yesterday. However, this has not gone cool with a number of local performers including Dj Shiru, Irene Ntale, Winnie Nwagi, Gravity, Sheeba, B2C, Cindy, Geosteady and Ykee Benda who all shared a portion of 20M amongst themselves.

Husky-voiced rapper Gravity Omutujju escalated the situation to a different whole level during his performance at the City carnival last night when he attacked the authority for not valuing him together with his fellow comrades in the industry.

It all began when Dj Shiru who was playing at the moment cut short his songs in the interest of time.”Mwana Shiru don’t stop my music am here to sing for Ugandans, not Tanzanians this my country let the music play” this sent the crowd into a loud cheer.

Like this was not enough he added on “Jennifer paid that Tanzania Guy a lot of money to come and perform here yet we are taking peanuts in own country this is Uganda and not Tanzania” he then performed winner song that left everyone off their feet.As he left stage he bragged about having filled Lugogo cricket Oval recently yet KCCA can’t fill up Kololo Airstrip with their international act.

Radio Simba’s Omuangira Ndausi jumped on stage and cautioned other performers to simply keep it City carnival essence and not attack anybody.
