Bobi Wine's driver Yasin Kawuma died last month after he was shot by yet to be identified persons during the Arua municipality by election violence. At the time of his death, Yasin left behind 7 wives with children to look after something that has become almost impossible for Sabiiti Male, the caretaker of the family who also doubles as the brother to the deceased.

Because of this,  President Museveni through musician Catherine Kusasira decided to send Shs 20m to help the family of the deceased.

But what shocked many is when the widows refused to take the condolences because their caretaker had not authorised the move.

However, 4 of the 7 widows made a U-turn when they decided to meet Catherine Kusasira at Calendar Guest House in Makindye, a Kampala suburb. The four ladies defied their caretaker's orders and accepted the money.

Sabiiti Male claims that the President should meet them in person if he is interested in helping them, and went ahead to meet Catherine Kusasira, who had decided to divert the money to the late Mohammad Kirumira's father to assist him in looking after the late's family.

It was drama when the widows father- in-law, Salamat Ssebabi turned up claiming to be the caretaker of the family, something that was not well digested by the widows, who claimed that they had never met him so there was no way he was going to look after them and their children.

The widows were shortly asked by  Kawuma's father to go for a DNA test before receiving a share of the money and this sparked off a fight.

One of Kavuma's widow, a mother of three, Annet Nansubuga, claimed that their father in-law couldn't be trusted with the money.

The continued protest by the widows against Kavuma's father forced him to give each of the ladies a sum of 2 millions shillings thereby keeping a balance of 12 millions.

By press time, there was no communication on if the other widows had received their share.

We shall keep you posted.
