Renowned socialite cum businessman Suleiman Kabangali Mbuga alias SK Mbuga is a free man after being released from jail in Dubai.
Mbuga was arrested and jailed at Awir Central jail in Dubai without trial in January 2018 over allegations of committing fraud. He was accused of swindling over 53 million Swedish krona approximately Shs 23 billions by Sten Heinsoo, a Swedish national.
He allegedly connived with his wife Vivienne to divert the money that was supposed to buy and transport gold from Uganda to Sweden.
A close source to Mbuga told Howwe that he is out of jail though he is still in Dubai preparing to return to Uganda.
"SK Mbuga is a free man though he is still in Dubai. He will be home soon," a family member said.
Mbuga is expected to return before the end of the month.
