On Friday rumour spread like wildfire that former Miss Uganda, Phiona Bizzu had perished in an accident while traveling to her village.
She has come out to say that she is well and safe, enjoying Christmas with family away from Kampala.
"I think it was an error in the pronunciation of the name. I am well. I am in the village, thank you for checking in. It’s okay, I’m well. Happy holidays," she said in an audio posted by one of her friends.
Phiona Bizzu was crowned Miss Uganda in 2012.
