President Museveni's 79th birthday celebration at Kololo independence grounds in Kampala will lead to road closures, impacting local traffic. Organized by a group of youths led by Hadijah Uzeiye Namyalo, the National Coordinator in the Office of the NRM National Chairman, the event expects around 100,000 guests from across the country.

Kampala Metropolitan Traffic police commander, Senior Superintendent of Police Godwin Arinaitwe, released a traffic flow plan, indicating that while normal traffic will continue at Golf Course traffic lights towards Acacia Avenue, there will be diversions around Upper Kololo Terrace, Elgon Terrace, and Lower Kololo Terrace, where only VVIPs will have access.

Motorists coming from different directions are provided with alternative routes and parking locations. Those coming from Bombo road are advised to use Old Kira road and Lugogo bypass, parking at KCCA grounds behind Shoprite. Visitors from Jinja should park at UMA show grounds.

Entebbe-bound traffic can use Kampala Road, Jinja road traffic lights, and Lugogo bypass, parking at KCCA grounds. Meanwhile, those from Nansana can take Yusuf Lule road and follow specific routes.
