On what would have been the 46th birthday of her late husband, Ivan Ssemwanga, socialite Zari Hassan celebrated in a unique manner on Tuesday.
Even though Mr. Ssemwanga passed away in May 2017, Zari Hassan took the time to commemorate the occasion and remember the father of her three eldest children. She shared her sentiments on social media, posting a photo of the late Ugandan businessman and writing, "Happy birthday. I hope the angels are celebrating with him."
In another post, the mother of five shared a memorable photo of herself and her late husband relaxing together in an entertainment area.
In a statement, she acknowledged and celebrated the great legacy left behind by the late businessman, expressing her assurance of its continuity. "The legacy lives on. Happy birthday," she wrote.
Zari Hassan and the late Ssemwanga were officially married for approximately two years before they separated in 2013. The couple, who lived and worked in South Africa, had three children together.
Ssemwanga, a wealthy businessman in South Africa, passed away at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria. His critical condition prompted his rushed admission to the hospital. He was later laid to rest in his village Nakaliro in an extravagant event attended by prominent figures from Uganda and beyond, including musicians Jose Chameleone, Bobi Wine, SK Mbuga, and Weasel.
During the burial ceremony, a substantial amount of money and expensive wines were poured into the businessman's grave after his coffin was lowered. Ssemwanga, identified as the leader of the Rich Gang in Uganda, passed away at the age of 39.
Following her husband's demise, Zari Hassan entered into a relationship with Diamond and had two more children with him.
