Kampala Cocktail Week Returns in Third Edition

Uganda Waragi last week announced the return of Kampala Cocktail Week which will be running for 10 days till December 10, 2017. This edition will see 30 participating bar and restaurants offer a specialty cocktail menu of new signature serves at highly discounted prices. The announcement was made at Riders Lounge, Acacia Place.

The opening party featured mixologists from three top bars in Kampala; Mythos Greek Tavern, Bushpig Backpackers and Riders Lounge, Acacia making creative cocktails of their choice that the public got a chance to taste. The Uganda Waragi Brand Manager, Agaba Tumusiime also showcased his craft when he mixed the Master Gabz Cocktail whose major ingredients were Uganda Waragi Coconut, Uganda Waragi Premium and pineapple juice. 

“This is the 3rd edition of Kampala Cocktail Week which since inception, has continued to grow year on year. The public interest and participation has turned this event into a highly anticipated one on Kampala’s social calendar. Kampala is renowned for having a thriving nightlife and as Uganda Waragi, we are committed to being at the forefront of championing the cocktail culture in this city,” said Agaba Tumusiime, Brand Manager, Uganda Waragi.

The concept, a brainchild of the Pearl Guide, allows people to sample and experience 10 days of carefully crafted cocktails at discounted prices at a variety of top bars.

This year, all participating bars will offer menus consisting of 3 types of cocktails; shooters, casual cocktails/long drinks and craft cocktails. “Kampala Cocktail Week is not only an experience for the customers but also an opportunity for the bars to showcase creativity, mastery at modern and trendy cocktail serves and superior customer service. For the first edition, we had 15 outlets participating, which then grew to 25 for the second edition and now 30 for the third,” Phillip Kalibwani, proprietor of Pearl Guide Uganda noted.

The drinking showcase will feature a number of activities which include a Singleton enabled whisky and food pairing experience at five selected outlets; the Ciroc Brunch, the Smirnoff Night and the Uganda Waragi Coconut Pop up beach, among others.
