Four people are dead after a vehicle they were travelling in, a taxi Reg. No. UBD 237E was involved in an accident.
The accident happened at Matuga, when a Trailer Reg. No. UAA 355S that was parked on the road lost control, reversed and rammed into the taxi that was heading to Luweero.
Two people identified as Sendagire Rogers from Luweero and Kasembo Tadeo from Kiryandongo died on spot and several others were critically injured. They were rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment.
However by this evening two more people (a couple) had also died, with the conditions of the remaining victims worrying according to Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson.
The duo has been identified as Musazi Rogers and his wife Nabukenya Robinah, residents of Luweero.
“Among the 8 survivors, seven are in critical condition. Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of accident” the spokesperson added.
