Last year, Jose Chameleone spear headed a campaign dubbed, Save Ugandan Music which was aimed at promoting more of local content. An association was formed but it was marred by conflicts. Musicians bickered amongst each other and as a result many left.
Bebe Cool was first to leave. When Chameleone abandoned the group, it was a clear sign that the campaign did not have a future. Chameleone was the brain behind the whole thing.
In an interview, Chameleone revealed that he decided to quit because the musicians were disorganized. "I thought we'd be one, but it failed. I built a good house, they turned it into a lodge."
