Police have discovered the lifeless body of a 23-year-old third-year Education student at Valley University in Bushenyi District.
The deceased, Susan Kyatuhaire, was found lying naked on the verandah of her rental in Kitokye cell, Central Division, Bushenyi Ishaka municipality with serious injuries to her head.
According to the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime, the deceased was first found by her roommate identified as Aijuka Kukundakwe, also a student at the same University.
Kukundakwe told police that they both attended lectures until around 08:00 Pm on Wednesday when the deceased departed from her and headed to Bushenyi town. Kukundakwe says that the deceased had no known complaint against anyone and was social with most people.
The deceased's body is currently at Kampala International Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for Postmortem.
Tumusiime says police are still investigating a case of murder and establishing whether the deceased was killed elsewhere and her body dumped at home or the attack happened within.
He says police officers who visited the scene of the crime found no weapon or direct evidence of the murder happening at home.
Since October 2022, Bushenyi police station has recorded a total of five murder cases.
