John Chriesestom Muyingo, who hails from Masaka district recently came up to claim family ties with  musician, Rema Namakula.

Muyingo alleges that he is Rema's grandfather, although he has not met with Rema in a longtime.

Rema grew up with Halima Namakula, who she describes as her mother. Halima took Rema under her care after the latter's parents passed on.

Since then,  according to Muyingo, Rema has been separated from her paternal relatives.

Muyingo wants to be reunited with Rema.

"She says she doesn't have a family, yet we are here. And we love her," he claims.

The old man has also implored Eddy Kenzo to man up and introduce himself to the family in Masaka.

"We are waiting for Kenzo. Let him come and ask officially for our daughter's hand in marriage, " he said.

Rema, on the other hand is not thrilled by Muyingo's revelations in the media. She says, "If he was my grandfather as he claims, he would have come straight to where I stay."
